Mission

Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary provides compassionate support and quality service to patients, families and visitors, as well as funding for special projects which benefit the hospital.

Special Projects include an annual allocation fund of $150,000 to fund “wish list” requests from various departments at the Atlanta , Alpharetta, Meridian Mark and Johns Creek campuses.  The Auxiliary also funds $50,000 of scholarship money to employees, auxilians and their families to assist with the pursuit of advanced education in the field of medicine.  An Educational Grant Fund is also supported by the Auxiliary to recognize the time and efforts of members of our summer Volunteen program.

Auxiliary History

The first meeting of the Northside Hospital Auxiliary was held on March 19, 1969, in the converted residence which housed offices for the hospital then under construction.

The meeting was attended by six women, the Hospital Administrator, Chief of Medical Staff, and a hospital appointed chairman of the Auxiliary organizing committee.  At this meeting, Mrs. Ellen Dwyer was elected Acting President.  She was then elected President at the second meeting held in April, and served in that capacity until May 1972

When the hospital opened on July 6, 1970, there were only two services offered to the hospital by the Auxiliary:  Gift Shop and Escort Services.  We currently offer up to thirty different services to our men, women and Volunteens.
