There are many benefits beyond personal growth and the knowledge that you are doing good works in the community.

  • Meals
    • One free meal for each 4 hour shift at Morrison’s Cafeteria. McDonald’s is not free.
  • Free parking
  • Education / Career Development
    • Take advantage of seminars and courses!  Learn CPR!
  • Medical
    • Volunteers receive a free TB test and immunization assessment
    • Flu shots
    • Opportunity to participate in health screenings and wellness seminars
  • Mammograms
    • Discounted screening mammograms are available for women age 35 and over who do not have health insurance
    • The Breast Care Center located in the Women’s Center
  • Prescription Drugs
    • Available from the Hospital Pharmacy at cost plus 20%
  • Credit Union
    • Volunteers may join Northside Hospital’s Credit Union and take advantage of its services
  • Letters of Recommendation
    • The Manager of Volunteer Services will write LoRs after a minimum of 50 hours of quality service
  • Scholarships
    • Two scholarships are available to Auxilians and their immediate families:
      • One given by Northside Hospital Auxiliary
      • One by the State Council on Auxiliaries/Volunteers
  • Gift Shop Discounts
    • Members receive a 10% discount on gift items only at main campus
    • Members who work a regular shift in Gift Shop receive 25%
    • This discount does not apply to sale items
  •  Insurance
    • Volunteers receive worker’s compensation while on duty
  • Tax Deductions
    • Mileage to and from the hospital, uniforms and membership fees are tax deductible
  • Award Pins
    • Given in recognition of 500 hours of service and in 500 hour increments given out at the Awards luncheon in April
  • Hospital Award Pins
    • Given for 5, 10, 15 etc. years of service with Awards luncheon in October.
